Economics in Action
Prague, Czech Republic | Summer

Discover economics, personal finance, and Czech culture in the heart of Prague. Study entrepreneurship and financial systems in a post-communist country through coursework and academic collaboration with the Center for Economic Research in Prague. Gain a deeper understanding of Czech history, society, and daily life as you immerse yourself in the culture of this charming city. Explore the surrounding area with visits to historic towns in the Czech Republic where you can wander through cobbled streets and experience the local way of life. An overnight trip to Krakow, Poland gives you more insight into the culture of the region.

Eligibility
This program is open to all interested undergraduate students.

Other Considerations & Requirements
Priority is given to students in good conduct standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; exceptions may be granted upon appeal. This program has academic readings, images/videos, and/or site visits with sensitive content which some participants may find disturbing or difficult to watch.

Note: Do not purchase airline tickets until advised to do so in the IP portal.

Housing

You'll stay in apartment accommodations in central Prague, featuring shared double bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, Wi-Fi, and modern amenities.

Note: Overnight guests are not allowed in program housing.

Academics

On this program, you'll study a focused curriculum with an FSU faculty member. You’ll have the opportunity to use the city as your classroom through immersive academic experiences.

Excursions & Activities

You'll receive a program calendar before you leave; here are some examples taken from past programs of potential excursions & activities you may do:

Overnight trips: Krakow, Poland (including guided visits to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, Krakow's Old Town, and the Kazimierz Jewish Quarter)

Day trips: Český Krumlov, Pilsen (including the Pilsner Urquell Brewery)

Local experiences: Visit to the Czech National Bank Museum, performance at Prague's National Theatre, Vltava River cruise, Prague Zoo, and/or other local experiences

Class visits: Guest speakers and academic collaboration with CERGE-EI

Finances

Study abroad is an investment in your future, but we believe the world is within your reach. When you study abroad with FSU, you pay an application fee and a program fee. The program fee is split into multiple payments. Most financial aid options can apply towards your program fee and payment deferment options are available.
