Dance in Paris
Paris, France | Summer
Study dance technique while living in Paris, the City of Light. Learn about dance performance through theater visits and master classes. Immerse yourself in a unique curriculum which combines technique classes at various dance academies and conservatories in Paris with the study of French culture, adding context to your learning. Explore Parisian history and culture through walking tours and other excursions around the city.
Eligibility
This program is open to all FSU undergraduate and graduate dance majors. Dance majors from other universities and FSU non-dance majors with an advanced-intermediate level of dance technique may also apply, but due to the performance nature of this program, these students will be required to submit audition materials and be approved by the program leader. Other Considerations & Requirements
Priority is given to students in good conduct standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; exceptions may be granted upon appeal.
Note: Do not purchase airline tickets until advised to do so in the IP portal.
Housing
You'll live in comfortable accommodations at the Cité Universitaire, an international campus in Paris built and maintained by countries from all over the world. Rooms are private with en suite bathroom. You will be able to prepare meals in shared kitchens.
Note: Overnight guests are not allowed in program housing.


Academics
On this program, you'll study a focused curriculum with an FSU faculty member. You’ll have the opportunity to use the city as your classroom through immersive academic experiences.
Excursions & Activities
You'll receive a program calendar before you leave; here are some examples taken from past programs of potential excursions & activities you may do:
Academic & other local experiences: Attending dance performances (including at the Palais Garnier, Théâtre de la Ville, and Théâtre du Chaillot), comedy show, Palace of Versailles visit, Palais Galliera visit, river cruise, and city walking tours
Class visits: Master dance classes at local Parisian studios
