Music & Culture
London, England | Spring Break

Embark on a musical tour across London as you attend concerts, musical performances, and a theater production. Immerse yourself in the vibrant music scene of London through experiences like a chamber concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields and a tour the Royal Opera House. A performance by the London Symphony Orchestra and a visit to St. Paul's Cathedral for Choral Evensong bring the curriculum to life. Explore some of London's bucket-list attractions in addition to music-focused excursions in this global city. Travel to London over spring break to study as part of a spring semester course in Tallahassee.

Application

Eligibility
This program is open to all undergraduate music majors (BM, BME, BA), music minors (BA), and BFA musical theater students.

Other Considerations & Requirements
Priority is given to students in good conduct standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; exceptions may be granted upon appeal. You must enroll in the IP section of IDS 2371 Music and Culture in London on the Tallahassee campus during the spring semester and will go abroad as a component of the course during the specified dates.

Note: Do not purchase airline tickets until advised to do so in the IP portal.

FSU London Study Center

Housed in a historic 17th century row of townhouses, the FSU London study center is located in the heart of central London's Bloomsbury district. The FSU London study center has a computer lab, library, admin offices, a student lounge, and more. Centrally located, the study center is the perfect hub for exploring all London has to offer.

Housing

You'll stay in shared hotel accommodations in central London. Wi-Fi and breakfast are included. You'll also have secure access to the FSU London study center building.

Note: Overnight guests are not allowed in program housing.

Academics

On this program, you'll study a focused curriculum with an FSU faculty member. Take a course during the spring semester and go abroad during spring break as part of the class. You’ll have the opportunity to use the city as your classroom through immersive academic experiences.

Excursions & Activities

You'll receive a program calendar before you leave; here are some examples taken from past programs of potential excursions & activities you may do:

Academic & other local experiences: Musical concerts, theater performance, walking tours, Westminster Abbey visit, St. Paul's Cathedral choral evensong, St. Martin-in-the-Fields church chamber concert, and/or visits to historic sties (including the British Museum, Tower of London, and/or Wallace Collection)

Study abroad is an investment in your future, but we believe the world is within your reach. When you study abroad with FSU, you pay an application fee and a program fee. The program fee is split into multiple payments. Most financial aid options can apply towards your program fee and payment deferment options are available.
