Global Learning Community with FSU CARE
Durban, South Africa | Summer

Gain real-world work experience while interning abroad in Durban, South Africa. Open to FSU students in the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE), this program allows you to explore the dynamic city of Durban. Located on South Africa’s eastern coast, the city is renowned for its rich history, stunning beaches, and abundant wildlife. Complete a full-time, unpaid internship with local organizations and institutions in Durban while abroad. Experience local customs through visits to historic sites and explore South Africa's vibrant wildlife through nature-focused excursions.

Application

Eligibility
This program is open to undergraduate CARE students. Due to the cohort nature of this program, interested students should first apply through the Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement (CARE). Students who are approved by CARE to enroll in the program must then submit a second application through International Programs.

Other Considerations & Requirements
Priority is given to students in good conduct standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; exceptions may be granted upon appeal. Students admitted to the program must register for EDH4932 during the spring semester and will go abroad in the summer during the specified dates. Contact the program leader, Emily Leyava at eleyava@fsu.edu, for more information about the CARE application process. All internships are unpaid.

Note: Do not purchase airline tickets until advised to do so in the IP portal.
