Human Rights
Pristina, Kosovo | Summer

Travel to Kosovo's capital of Pristina, an economic hub in Europe's newest democracy. Learn about the human rights movement in Kosovo through lectures on the history and human rights efforts of the country and through visits with numerous stakeholders from the local human rights community. Past examples of immersive learning experiences on this program include meetings with governmental leaders, conversations with therapists at a local torture treatment center, visits to NGOs that work with human trafficking victims, and lectures from stakeholders of the UN and EU. Explore Kosovo's beautiful mountain scenery and the nearby beaches of Montenegro. If you are studying human rights and social justice, the coursework qualifies for that major.

Application

Eligibility
This program is open to all interested undergraduate students.

Other Considerations & Requirements
Priority is given to students in good conduct standing with a GPA of 2.5 or higher; exceptions may be granted upon appeal. You will be required to complete online coursework before and after the program. Be advised that this program intensively focuses on human rights victim issues which emerged from the Balkan Wars of the 1990s and may be triggering to some students.
