Course Description
Health is a challenge all humans share, and approaches vary all over the world. Through hands-on experiences and first-person perspectives, this course systematically examines the people, the structure, and the outcomes of a healthcare system as well as the larger cultural environment in which it operates, such a nutrition, lifestyle, and social attitudes. Policy, regulation, and innovation are explored in the context of optimizing system processes and development of new diagnostics and therapeutics. Comparing to the US healthcare system, students evaluate complex pros and cons and gain insight for future solutions for patients around the world.
