This course introduces students to the study of terrorism and political violence from a comparative perspective. It examines key theoretical, empirical, and normative approaches to understanding political violence, including the roles of non-state and state actors. Students will explore how political violence emerges, how it takes different forms, and how governments and other actors respond. The course emphasizes critical analysis of concepts, cases, and debates across diverse political and regional contexts.
