Custom-designed for qualified high school students, these programs begin in the spring and conclude with a tour to London and Paris during Spring Break (dates are consistent with most schools). These innovative educational programs offer THREE semester hours of college credit (HUM 2235) and allow students to learn while having the time of their lives! A great opportunity to practice your French!
HOW IT WORKS!
Step One
Select appropriate Spring Break dates:
March 26 – April 3, 2010 (HS06)
April 2 – April 10, 2010 (HS07)
Step Two
Enrollment begins in the fall, and beginning in January, students will have a combination of web-based instruction, internet research, as well as some face-to-face evening orientation classes for students in the local area. For out-of-area students, all orientation information will be available on the website or by personal contact with the director and/or program leader. The pre-departure web-based academic assignments and instruction component will be completed prior to the Spring Break departure.
Must have Internet Access
Must have Microsoft Word
[Upon acceptance, participants will be given appropriate information, instructions and FSU student ID number to access website.]
Step Three
From March 26 – April 3 (HS06) OR April 2 – April 10 (HS07) students visit London and Paris seeing and experiencing what they have just studied. Paintings, sculpture, monuments, and historical sites come to life before their eyes as they experience the art and culture of these famous European capital cities first hand. It is also a chance for students to learn new English vocabulary (British style), practice French, interact with people of British and French cultures, and to form some special friendships with classmates who will be their traveling companions. This unique educational travel experience will add to all that they have previously learned, making history truly come alive! |
