Program Information - European Humanities

Custom-designed for qualified high school students, these programs begin in the spring and conclude with a tour through Europe in the summer. These innovative educational programs offer NINE semester hours of college credit (HUM 2210, HUM 2235, & HUM 2250) and allow students to learn while having the time of their lives!

HOW IT WORKS!

Step One

Enrollment begins in the fall, and beginning in January, students will have a combination of web-based instruction, internet research, as well as some face-to-face evening orientation classes for students in the local area.  For out-of-area students, all orientation information will be available on the website or by personal contact with the director and/or program leader.

Must have Internet Access
Must have Microsoft Word
[Upon acceptance, participants will be given appropriate information, instructions and FSU student ID number to access website.]

Step Two

From June 16 – July 13, 2010 students travel throughout Europe seeing and experiencing what they have just studied.  Paintings, sculpture, monuments, and historical sites come to life before their eyes as they experience the art and culture of Europe first hand.  It is also a chance for students to acquire some important vocabulary in several languages, to interact with people of other cultures, and to form some special friendships with classmates who will be their traveling companions.  This unique educational travel experience will add to all that they have previously learned, making history truly come alive!
